Shah Alam is the city and state capital of Selangor, Malaysia.  Situated within the Petaling District and a small portion of the neighbouring Klang District, it replaced Kuala Lumpur as the capital city in 1978. Garden of Islamic Arts, the Blue Mosque, and Sultan Alam Shah Museum – Shah Alam is rich in its culture. Once known as Sungai Renggam, it is popular for its rubber and palm oil trade for centuries now.

The ultimate gem of Shah Alam is the Blue Mosque which overlooks the Garden of Islamic Arts. Also known as the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque, it is believed to be the largest mosque in Malaysia and one of the largest in Southeast Asia. It holds the record for having the largest religious dome in the world and third tallest minarets in the world. 

Shopping is one of the top things to do in Shah Alam. The SACC Mall, Setia City Mall, AEON Mall Shah Alam, and Central I-City are a few of the many malls here which serve what the heart wants. You are bound to find almost all the cuisines here in Shah Alam. it is the most Malay-centric place, divided into sections with the hidden treasure of lip-smackingly delicious food! You will find popular local cuisines of Selangor like Pecal, Nasi Ambeng, and Sambal Taun to name a few.
